In Memory of Verline Walker
June 3, 1923 — September 5, 2015
Born June 3rd 1938 in Los Angeles, Ca, to Hilda and John N. Ramage. She had one Brother John C. Ramage who preceded her in death in 2010.
In 1952 the family moved to Bakersfield where she attended and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1956. Shortly after she married, was a home maker and mother of 4 children. In her 30's she returned to Bakersfield College and graduated from the Registered Nurse program. As a nurse she had a 25 year career working in Bakersfield, Visalia and Kingsburg in the hospital and with Hospice patients and their families. In retirement she moved back to Bakersfield to be close to family. She also enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her daughter Koral Hancharick of Bakersfield, Ca (Mark), Sons; Jack Sprague of Tehachapi, Ca (Gale), Mark Sprague of Nipomo Ca, Zachary Sprague of Bakersfield, Ca, 6 grandchildren, Brittnie Smith, Jared Smith, Danielle Sprague, Jacquelyn Sprague, Macy Sprague and Amanda Sprague and many nieces and nephews.
She was loved and will be missed, and will be remembered for her generosity, strength and feisty spirit.
There will be no funeral, the Family will be having a private service and internment at Hillcrest at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Buena Vista Museum of Natural History and Science.
