Joseph Patrick Wescott - age: 57
(April 16, 1956 to June 13, 2013 )

Obituary:
Born to parents, Glen and Rita Wescott in Escanaba, Michigan. Joe lived a full life as he knew it. Sure he got into some trouble, but don't we all. As a kid he was in the scouts. He grew up in the upper peninsula of Michigan with his 3 sisters and two brothers. They all grew up near the Indian reservation. Joe had a streak in him that always kind of pulled him into some situations that got him into some kind of trouble. yet through most of it he kept that attitude that says hang tough. He grew up in a generation where drugs and alcohol were the thing to do, and as we all did - he got caught up these things. He spent plenty of time in jail and prison - yet he didn't let this get him down. Most times, Joe could be found somewhere that there were people who needed help could be found. Always looking for a way to help. he never really had much except for the clothes on his back. Whenever he did have somethnig, he tried to share with others.
He was married twice and leaves behind many who will miss him. He had three step-daughters with his first wife and now they all have children of their own so Joe was a grandpa. His second wife had three children who came to know Joe as their dad - plus him and her had one son who was named after Joe. To Joe all these step-children were his own and he treated them all as such. Through these came more grandchildren. Probably through all - approximately twenty grand children. He will be missed by all.
Joe never really could be said to settled down. He liked the life of a rambler. He was kind of a Jack of all Trades. Whenever problems would arise, he would face them. Whenever anyone wanted to make trouble he would try to calm it. Whenever fights would happened he wouldn't fight back but would take a thrashing. Near the end he came back from Oregon cause he knew he was having some problems and wanted to be near his family. Once he got seen by doctors, they ran all their test he was given the notice that he had cancer and it was already stage four. While in the hospital, most of his families came and visited him. A few came to visit while he was at home being cared for, but he did get to see them all. The time came where he was getting tired, and as he was in the hospital the second time he was visited by an elder from the church and his wife. They talked with Joe and anointed him and prayed with him. Finally Joe came to understand that God's forgiveness was also for him and he came to accept Jesus into his life and now he sleeps awaiting the Resurrection when Jesus returns.
Joe's final wish was that all his families would come together and get along. He would love for them all to come and to know and love God and accept Christ also. Remember that Joe loved you all.
