Algia Lee Thomas was born in Tulare, California on January 11, 1950 to Vera Lee Thomas & Isreal Thomas. He was the second youngest of 8 siblings. Algia was the eldest of all his brothers and Sisters except Loyce Robertson (eldest) Willie, Henry, James, Mary, Nonie and Denise. Algia grew up and had a smile that would light up any room and would always offer a helping hand to those in need. Algia accepted Christ at an early age and was involved with many activities with the church. Algia attended Freemont and Lincoln Jr. High School and graduated from Bakersfield High School. Algia attended Trucking School and became a truck driver for over 40 years. Algia also worked as an electrician. Algia loved Barbecuing and had an amazing hand making food everyone could enjoy. Algia enjoyed fellowship with the Brotherhood until his health failed him and he was unable to attend. He also attended Sunday school at St. John Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed fellowship there. He was a man brought up in church and would tell anybody "you got to Pray God will make a way". In 1974 Algia met Joann Tillman and fell in love with her. He later married her in 1986 and to this union two children were born. Vanessa Thomas and Jasmine Thomas. Algia was a family man for over 30 years and always ensured he took care of them. Algia Leaves a legacy of love to cherish with his wife JoAnn Thomas of 30 years and his Children Vanessa Thomas, Jasmine Thomas of Bakersfield CA., 4 Grand children Kameron Gilmore, Le'toryia Gilmore, La'neia Gilmore and Laylonie Gilmore. His living siblings are Loyce Robertson, Henry Thomas, James Thomas, Mary Thomas, Nonie Thomas, and Denise Thomas.
